Meet our Director
Sophia Rodriguez
Sophia moved to Weslaco with her husband, Luis, in obedience to God’s call for him to serve in the Spanish Pastoral role. She has a heart for children and a strong foundation in early childhood education, most recently serving as the Office Manager at a Montessori and Early Education Preschool in McAllen. She also faithfully served as the Children’s Sunday School Director at her church in Houston. Sophia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services and a Master’s degree in Leadership with a concentration in Ministry, equipping her to serve both families and the church with wisdom and compassion. She is an active member of First Baptist Church Weslaco and joyfully participates in the Women on Missions ministry, crocheting blankets, hats, and toys to bless families throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico. Her calling to serve children is rooted in her faith and guided by Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
