The Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church provides biblically-based, age-appropriate Bible studies, dynamic worship, as well as many other fun and educational events that equip babies, preschoolers, and children through sixth grade to become integral parts of the larger community of believers.
Wednesday night activities
Wednesday nights during the school year are the cornerstone of our Children's ministry. Students can be dropped off at church at 5:00 p.m. for Homework House where they receive a meal and help with their homework. Children's Choir and AWANA meet from 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm. Our hope is that children and parents will enjoy the time we invest in school work, fellowship, worship, and the study of God's word. The third Wednesday of each month also provides an opportunity to enjoy table fellowship, communion, and worship with the entire community of believers at our Family Council Meetings.
Sunday School and Children's Church
Sunday School (for children ages Pre-K-6th Grade) meets in the Family Life Center at 9:45 am. Nursery is available for younger children during our Sunday School and service times.
Because we believe in the importance of community worship, children (ages 3-Kinder) are given an activity to work on during the service that will deepen their understanding of the sermon.
In addition to our normal weekly schedule, First Baptist Church Weslaco engages students and families in various activities throughout the year. Each year FBCW hosts a Vacation Bible School in June and a Fall Festival in October free of charge to our community. The Summer also brings about the opportunity to participate in Kids Camp, an overnight trip to Camp Zephyr, and Music Camp, a week long training in music for children hosted by First Baptist Church Weslaco.
